The Hospital CIMA Radiology department jumps ahead in quality with the acquisition of new Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) equipment that s the device operating in the centre since its opening 10 years ago.
The new equipment represents a real challenge in diagnostic possibilities, as we gone from a 16-slice CAT scanner to a 128-slice scanner. It should be pointed out that this new CAT scanner is one of only three in the city of Barcelona.
The first benefit for the patient is that radiation is significantly reduced and this is not a minor issue since high radiation is the CAT test’s main downside. In addition, the image’s greater resolution and precision will allow increased efficiency in the diagnosis and a level of service that was not possible before with the old equipment, such as for example, cardiac CAT.
The TAC of the Hospital CIMA, together with the one of Balmes 67, configures a first level offer for the customers of Sanitas in Barcelona and its area of influence.
